The cottage is available for short breaks at our special winter prices 10th October to 22nd March 2010   Daily rates available out of season with a 3 night minimum stay £50 per night  bookable by contacting us directly.  

The Accommodation is equipped to 3* standards, sleeps 4 people and consists of a large double bedroom, twin bedded room, kitchen including cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher,  fridge/freezer and seating for four people. The water is natural spring water perfect for drinking and bathing. There is a sitting room with sky television and wireless internet. Bathroom including bath with shower over. Electricity, Bed linen & towels are included in the price of the accommodation, cot and high chair available on request.

The Property is situated two miles out of Tobermory with extending views of the Glengorm Estate & distant sea views of the Isle of Coll where Minke Whales and Basking Sharks can be seen regularly in the summer months. This creates a fantastic base for wildlife holidays and walking holidays, with cycle paths all around. Wildlife to be found here includes red deer which can be seen all year round but are heard rutting October - November, golden eagles, white tailed eagles, hen harriers, red grouse, mountain hares, as well as much more wildlife which can be seen in close proximity to the house all year round.

The Old Powerhouse was built in World War II as a generator station (powerhouse) to provide electricity to the masts at the top of Cnoc Fuar on the Glengorm Estate, a vital part to naval communications in the Western Isles. In 1983 the building was purchased from the estate and fully renovated turning it into a luxury four bed roomed bungalow. In 2008 we bought the bungalow and turned it into a luxury two bed roomed self catering accommodation with adjoining bungalow in which we live.

Day rates available out of season with a 3 night minimum stay.

The cottage is available for a full weeks Saturday to Saturday from 22nd March to 20th October 2010, then short breaks there after

LOCATION

On entering Tobermory on the A848 take the first exit at the roundabout and follow the road up the hill. At the staggered crossroads go straight across, signposted Glengorm and follow this road for 2 miles passing the waterworks, over the cattle grid until you reach a second cattle grid. On crossing this you are at The Old Powerhouse on your left.
