Our tours start from the areas of
Tobermory, Salen, Craignure, Fishnish and
Gruline. The Tall Tales minibus leaves Tobermory
at 10.00 and Salen at 10.15 in order to meet the
10.00 ferry from Oban, which arrives into
Craignure at 10.45. We can also arrange to pick
you up either directly from your accommodation
or from the nearest main road and return you to
your pick up point at the end of the day.
Centuries of invading peoples, warring families,
religious happenings and inter-clan squabbles
make for Mull's colourful and intricate history.
It is no wonder then that many a tall tale was
passed by word of mouth to successive
generations, but which ones were based on
tangible facts? The legend of Tragedy Rock?
Dumpy Murdochs reasonable revenge? Or the
headless horseman named Eoghann a Chinn Bhig (Ewen
of the Little Head)? You'll have to join us to
find out!
The
Isle of Mull is a beautiful place. It is the
second largest island of the Inner Hebrides
(after Skye) and some archaeology suggests it
has been inhabited since around 6000 BC.
Scattered over impressive landscapes are
hundreds of prehistoric, medieval and more
modern ruins, which hint at a turbulent past.
Combine Mull's long and captivating history with
her wild rocky coastlines, white sandy beaches
and abundant wildlife and it will be hard to
board the ferry and leave at the end of your
stay.
Driving around the island brings with it the
possibility of seeing the fabulous flora and
fauna that Mull is so famous for. Watch out for
deer, seals, otters, feral goats and a huge
variety of birds including the famous golden
eagle and white-tailed eagle.
The tour prices are £35.00 per
person including lunch and our sunset drives are
£20.00 per person including a wee dram of
whisky.
