Picking up in Salen, Fishnish and Craignure
Search for the elusive and skulking Corncrake,
one of Scotland’s rarest Summer migrants that retains a stronghold on the Isle
of Iona. Unearth the delights of the machair, one of the rarest habitats in
Europe and it’s special bird and plant communities. Marvel at a variety of
Arctic-bound migratory waders that refuel at The Bay at the Back of the Ocean in
Spring
We meet at 10.15 am at the ferry terminal at Fionnphort - alternatively you can
be collected from the ferry or your hotel or bed & breakfast base in Tobermory
or Salen and be transported to Iona via some of the most stunningly beautiful
scenery in Scotland. This service is free of charge but places are limited so
early booking is advisable.
The walk is no longer than 3 miles on flat
easy terrain, however stout walking shoes or walking boots are essential. We
highly recommend that you bring binoculars. The cost is £45.00 per person which
includes return ferry fare to Iona, the renowned home-made ‘Mull Magic’ lunch,
with soup, filled roll, fruit and cake made with the best local ingredients and
the services of an experienced Walk Leader and Wildlife Expert. Other walks on
the islands are from £35.00 per person.

The Island of Mull is one of the most diverse
wildlife destinations in the world and your trip is designed to maximise your
chances of seeing golden eagles, otters, white tailed sea eagles, porpoise, hen
harriers and a whole host of fascinating Hebridean wildlife. You will not only
see our wonderful creatures in their spectacular natural habitats but you will
also learn how to look and where to look for them. We provide binoculars, maps
and field guides,
included are morning coffee, tea and scones and picnic lunch which comprises
home made soup and sandwiches, tea coffee and cakes.
