Whether you are staying on the
Isle of Mull, or the mainland, come and join us
and enjoy wonderful scenery and fantastic
wildlife with Richard your guide of fourteen
years experience conducting wildlife safaris on
the beautiful Isle of Mull.
Binoculars and lunch are included in the
price. We regularly get good sightings of white
tailed sea eagles, golden eagles, divers,
Merlin, Peregrine, hen harriers, otters, golden
plover, twite, raven and many other species. The
average number of bird species recorded per trip
is 48, the record being 65.
A little easy walking is done, so good shoes
and waterproofs are advisable. Don't be put off
by bad weather as some of our best sightings,
particularly of otters, have been made in poor
weather.
For visitors travelling from the mainland,
collection can be arranged from the ferry
terminals on Mull. Crossing on the 1000 hrs from
Oban you will be collected at the Craignure
Ferry Terminal at 1045 hours. Travellers on the
Lochaline ferry will be collected at Fishnish
Pier at 1030 hrs. For visitors staying on Mull
the collection points are: Tobermory 1000 hrs
and Salen 1015 hrs. We return in time to catch
the 1700 hrs ferries to the mainland and stop at
Salen 1700 hrs and Tobermory 1715 hrs.
At Island Encounter we are keen to encourage
youngsters to develop an interest in wildlife
and bird watching, however we feel that a full
day's outing of this nature would be too much
for very young children.
